Every Class Is a Career
VERSION 0.922 · 20 AUGUST 2026
The biggest change to progression since talents shipped: XP and
levels are per class now. Each of the eight classes levels separately
and carries its own talent tree — playing a Roadmaster levels your
Roadmaster, and only your Roadmaster.
Nothing was lost in the change. Your existing XP moved
whole into the class you last played, your saved builds became that class's
trees, and every record, session and achievement is untouched. Check your
classes at
cargostrife.com/talents.
XP is per class
- Every class has its own level. XP goes to the class your
company is playing — crew included, you level what you played that
match — so levelling all eight means playing all eight.
- The level follows you into the game. The starting capital
grant, the early-vehicle horizon and the level on your company name all
come from the class you founded with. A fresh class starts at level 1
with everything that implies.
- The players page shows your best. The list displays each
player's highest class, so your headline number is the career you have
pushed furthest.
- Records, sessions, champions, podiums and your Discord link are
account-wide, exactly as before.
Every class keeps its own tree
Loading a class and loading a build used to be two different things. They are
one thing now: your class is your build.
- Eight trees, one per class. Each runs on autopilot until
you link Discord and save your own version — from then on that class
plays YOUR tree, every company, every server.
- Switching class destroys nothing. Picking a different
class just changes which tree and level apply. Your other seven trees sit
exactly where you left them.
- Achievement talent points are global. All of them apply
to every class's budget, on top of that class's own level — your
account-wide effort benefits every career you start.
- In chat,
!class and !loadbuild now do
the same thing, and !builds lists all eight classes with
their levels and which have custom trees.
The board edits one class at a time
- A class strip replaces the builds toolbar on the talents
page: eight chips showing each class's level and whether its tree is
custom or autopilot. Click one to view and edit that class.
- Save writes the class you are looking at, validated
against that class's own level and your achievement points.
- Reset returns one class to autopilot and touches nothing
else.
- Share links work as before — a shared build opens on its
class and saves into that class's slot.
The Company Setup page says it all
- Each class button shows its level, its talent budget and
whether its tree is custom — so you know before founding whether
to visit the website first.
- Picking a class on the page applies its own tree at its own
level, the same as chat.
The migration
- Your existing XP moved whole into the class you last
played — nothing was split, nothing was lost.
- Every saved build became its class's tree. If you had several,
each landed in its own class.
- Old build names still work in chat —
!loadbuild resolves them to the class they carried.
