Free servers, run for fun, with no guarantees. Play fair, and know that nothing here is permanent except your career - and even that can change.

01WHAT THIS IS

Cargostrife is a set of free public OpenTTD servers and this website, run by one person as a hobby. There is nothing to buy and no account to pay for.
You need your own copy of OpenTTD to play. OpenTTD is separate free software. Cargostrife is not affiliated with the OpenTTD project, with Chris Sawyer, or with the original Transport Tycoon.

02PLAYING FAIRLY

The Server Rules are part of these terms. In short: compete hard, do not wreck anyone else's game, keep chat civil, one company per player.

Staff may remove anyone making the servers worse for everyone else, with or without warning.

03NOTHING HERE IS PERMANENT

Worlds reset every four hours, on a fixed clock. That is the format, not a fault, and anything you built goes with it.
Careers, records and rankings persist between sessions but are not guaranteed. They can be corrected, reset or lost - through a bug, a backup restore, or a balance change that invalidates old data.
The game changes constantly. Talent boards get rebalanced and saved builds may need rebuilding.
The servers may change, move, or shut down at any time, without notice.

04WHAT YOU TYPE

Company names, president names and chat are visible to other players and are relayed to Discord. Keep them legal and civil. Anything may be removed, and the account behind it excluded.

05NO WARRANTY

Everything here is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. You use it at your own risk. Nobody is liable for lost progress, lost time, or anything else arising from using the servers or this site.

06CHANGES

Changes to these terms are posted on this page. Continuing to play means accepting them.
